First of all, thanks for stopping by FreewareBB.
How many times have you searched on the internet for a particular piece of software to find multiple sites claiming "free download" this and "free download" that. When you navigate the array of links and have eventually hit multiple advertisements in error you'll eventually get to the download link you want. Isn't it frustrating though? Why can't they just give you the damn link!!!. Well on FreewareBB that's exactly how we felt and that's why we exist. You won't find multiple links to various pages which are intended to trick or manipulate you into clicking advertisements just to gain revenue, but instead your download is merely 1 click away. When you hit our site looking for a download you will clearly see the download button and that's all you need to press. FreewareBB is quite unlike a lot of other freeware sites due to the fact that we are first and foremost a forum (or as our name says a "Bulletin Board") and as such we aim to offer more of a community than just a web site. We actively encourage our members to add to our content, submitting software they have themselves found, installed and proven to be useful. Anyone is free to register although you need only register to take advantage of the many features on our site such as instant email notification when files tagged as your "favourite" are updated, etc and guest's are not restricted in any way. FreewareBB does not use any form of 'auto-submission' system from author's or developer's. Traditionally, some sites offering freeware, shareware, trialware, etc use auto-generated means of populating their sites with content which usually involves the author using a third party application to enter the particulars of their creation which would then update all those sites which were subscribed to the technology. Using this technology means anything and everything is posted by the authors themselves meaning most submissions are not impartial and could potentially be used by spammers thus increasing the workload for the webmasters which takes their efforts away from day to day business. More importantly, this technology would appear to be no longer under any kind of support or further development and is running the risk of becoming seriously outdated or even vulnerable. We instead, like to source our freeware from a variety of locations and not rely on authors submitting hundreds of articles to thousands of sites. Our site is 100% human edited and is updated manually, either by us or by our members. Our board is completely free from annoying pop-up's, intrusive advertisements and misleading links. Those extremely annoying 'vibrant ads' are also nowhere to be found!. We do, however, display a few advertisements on our site which we like to think are obvious for all to see and they are there firstly to offer you further reading on that particular subject and secondly to generate at least some revenue to help us maintain our board. If you are interested in posting freeware that you have found useful please see our comprehensive guide HERE although remember you have to be a member to do this. Finally, we pride ourselves on the quality of the freeware listed on FreewareBB and will take down ANY software which we feel has been wrongly classed as freeware (i.e. trialware, shareware, etc) and will absoutely not tolerate software which contains spyware or viruses. All software added to our site is scanned for viruses, although should you have concerns regarding a particular title on our site we are always very grateful to be informed immediately so we can take the necessary steps to remove the offending matter. Recently we have also began scanning all URLs added to the site using McAfee SiteAdvisor and WOT (Web Of Trust) and surprisingly enough we have already removed a small number of titles from our site (some of which were from major players in the software scene!) so further reassuring our visitors and members of complete trust between our site and your PC!. Above all, please enjoy your time on our site and if we can assist you in any way, just shout (Contact Us) Regards, Marko |
