Downloaded this program and ran it. Said I was infected with Banker.Banbra trojan (which was rubbish) and that if I paid £20 or so for the full program, I could remove the infection. Ran Spybot Search and Destroy and this suggested Spyware Detector was a serious and malicious program and to be very wary of it. So uninstalled Spyware Detector, ran Avast antivirus and could find no trace of the trojan. Me thinks they are trying to sell the program under false pretenses. So let all be warned.

Hi mogginski and welcome to FreewareBB, good to have you here (IMG:https://freewarebb.com/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I can confirm that we don't list that software for good reason, they show as dangerous in WOT (web of trust) here: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/spywaredetector.com
Thanks for taking the time to warn others (IMG:https://freewarebb.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Marko |
