Aqsis is a cross-platform photorealistic 3D rendering solution, based on the RenderMan interface standard defined by Pixar Animation Studios. Features include programmable shading, true displacements, 3D depth-of-field, motion blur, NURBS, subdivision surfaces, constructive solid geometry (CSG), procedural plugins and more. What´s New Enhancements Add a compatibility interface to Pixar´s sloarg shader argument library. Improve piqsldisplay standard compliance to work with 3delight Optimization to texture filtering code: precomputed integer image channel normalization. Revised Windows installer, removing unnecessary features and improved logging. Add GeometricApproximation "focusfactor" approximation for faster depth of field rendering. Off by default. Bugfixes Fix incorrect fixed-size integer types in ndspy.h on some platforms. Fix bug #2128051: "8-bit character encoding missing" Fix printing of parameter lists which was missing the token names when using -echoapi Remove the AQSIS_USE_PLUGINS option from the build system to avoid confusion and broken builds. Fix bug #2167498: "uniform user parameters not working for SDS" Correct the array length count as passed by the RIB parser into RiColorSamples. Fix texture(..., "lerp", 1) which incorrectly used mipmap level 1 when magnifying a texture Fix intermittent aqsl segfault when typechecking functions, especially external DSOs. Fix varying string value assignment in the shading language which acted as if it was uniform. Fix bug #2128030: "unnecessary PATH environment variable" Fix bug #2499967: ".aqsisrc no-longer supports backslashes in paths" Add some basic validity checks to the quadric primitives. Fix bug #2173552 by flipping Ng´s direction as necessary when a user specified N is present. Add missing include files to OSX bundle. Add missing include files to NSIS. Fix the installation details for OSX to ensure visibility on the PATH. Fix bug #2498990: Backface culling sometimes incorrect in motion blocks Fix bug in RSL ctransform() function - previously one of fromspace or tospace had to be "rgb". Authors ...
