Publishers Description
Stickies is a PC utility to cut down on the number of Post-It notes. It stores all information in a single text-based ini file. They are yellow rectangular windows onto which you can put some text notes. Once created, they will stay on screen until you take them away.

Just like a real sticky piece of paper.

What's New in Version 7.1d (See full changelog)

  • Fixed faulty save logic meaning changes to the last text sticky edited might not be saved
  • Possible crash after using the Sleep menu fixed
  • The keypress cursor position is remembered when deleting from the Manage dialog

Scanned & Checked: May 09 2012 06:31 AM

When we last updated Stickies, we made sure it was still virus and malware free and the developer's site had no proven issues in any of the reputable site advisory services. In the unlikely event you notice any issues, please let us know immediately, otherwise we will schedule this software for another scan the next time it is updated.

Once in a while you get an absolute keeper, and Stickies is it. A combined text micro-editor, clipboard manager and post-it utility with all the configuration options you could need. Simple to use, intuitive to set up, and it doesn't conflict with any other desktop apps you may be running. One click on the tray icon and you've got a new Sticky - you can paste text, web links, and even drag and drop images into it. There's an alarm and sleep function and networking too. And a cool fade to transparency on loss of focus.
Cons? Still trying to find one. Oh all right - the undo function could be more comprehensive, but now I'm being really picky.  Stable as you like; you don't even have to quit to upgrade and there's even a skinning application.

Well worth a download. My absolute favourite function is the 'Attach' option which means a particular sticky will open (and close) with any specified application, even a particular explorer window, which means that if you needed a particular reference chart to open every time you looked in a certain directory, or opened a particular application (for me it's a scale modes chart with music files), that will happen - without using another application, and the chart minimizes with the main application. Brilliant.

Oh well, had a serious issue with 7.1c - two attached stickies, one a 45kb jpg, one a 726-byte rtf just sent the pc into treacle mode: cpu cycles up to 49 on task manager. Uninstalled, reinstalled is now fine(?)
