      Ugh!
Just noticed an SQL error message on installation.
      Portable edition went well though.

Hey DaComboMan - I've never used one of these note taking applications before, I have generally just used Word to keep a record of any clips, thoughts, ideas, etc.

Downloaded the portable version of Cintanotes, as per your recommendation, for a look see. Would now be nice if you could please give us some insight into the workings:

What would you use it for in particular? Can you run us through a typical scenario, step be step?
What advantages does Cintanotes have over other similar applications?

Any other relevant information/advice would also me very much appreciated.

        Cheers.....Jim

          Hi Jim,

Actually, when i went back to their forum,
i downloaded the file from there and had no issues installing it.

Keeping it handy in the tray can be useful in keeping notes from any text clippings from browsers.
A quick hotkey and the text + url are simultaneously saved.
Search box feature helps you to find your data almost instantly.
Tagging feature is something more and more popular and handy to have.

This program is small and donationware.
The author is most cordial and open to our suggestions.
          The forums show this.

It may not be my favourite app but it looks promising!
I recently recommended it to someone who had notes for each book in a large collection.
With the tagging system he could put all his notes there becoming like a cross-reference work, open to eventual notes to come.

The author even recommends backing the database to Dropbox.
You need to read up for this procedure and more.

          Hope this helped you! ;)

Yep, sure did. Thanks for that mate....very much appreciated.

I'll now give the software an extended trial and see if it is indeed useful for myself.

            Thanks again.......Jim

              My pleasure Jim!

My friend had a bunch of "stenographic" codes for his notes dispersed all over different books.
The tagging systems + quick find make Cintanotes a good choice.
I just find the backing up system a bit tedious.

ResophNotes posted here as donationware is a nifty one to have as alternative.
Backing up + syncing to online service is pretty nice to have. Especially when you can eventually sync with your iPod Touch (if you have one).
