Sometimes we install release candidates to take a peek at what's new etc, although as in my case it can cause slight compatibility issues and so I decided to uninstall the RC release and drop back to my previous (stable) version of IE - your previous version of IE is automatically restored after a restart. However, it's not all that obvious on how to actually uninstall IE9 so I thought I'd share the details with anyone else in a similar position:

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
- In the search box for Vista and Windows 7 (i.e. search programs and files) type Programs and Features and click the search result "Programs and Features". Next, click "View installed updates" in the left pane and under "Uninstall an update", scroll down to the "Microsoft Windows" section.
- Now right-click "Windows Internet Explorer 9", click uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.
- When the uninstall is complete, choose either to "Restart now" or "Restart later".
Remember though, your previous version of explorer will not be available until after you restart your machine!.
