
Did you know that the paper notes we use today as money, goes way back to the 1600's. First introduced in England by goldsmiths, who, at that time were "Banks". People would come into the goldsmiths, recieve a secure box to put all their gold in, and the goldsmith would keep it. He would then give you a reciept which said "I promise to pay the bearer the sum of....". People then started to swap these reciepts instead of money, and thus the bank note was born. Thats also why you get the "I promise to pay the bearer the sum of..." on all sterling notes
