Those links you posted aren't working Apokalipsys, plus all IOBit products have had their support removed from FreewareBB after the infamous scandal with the stealing of definition databases from MalwareBytes :man_in_love:

What I have noticed recently too, and rather worryingly, is the fact that WOT seem to be disabling comments and voting options from a lot of negatively rated websites - this basically means we can no longer vote up comments we believe to be true or add/amend comments to a site's reputation.   I have a funny feeling the sites in question are contacting WOT and either threatening them with legal action if further negative comments or votes are added (with, quite possibly, no justification to continue adding such) or WOT are simply listening to the sites arguments and considering the points put across.   For sites with a few negative comments which can't be verified, I guess that's fine, but when a site has a mass of negative comments all based around the same issue it just seems a bit of a poor show to stop others voting or posting further negative remarks - at the end of the day, these sites deserve to be nailed to the wall and it would appear WOT are attempting to limit or even stifle further opinions.   I think my attitude to WOT may just be changing if they're not careful!!

Please remember that we have people from many different timezones on the site and if your post requires a reply it could take longer at some at some points because of this.

Hey Guys - FreewareBB does not support nor recommend IObit software. IObit have been accused of stealing the proprietary database (signature database) and intellectual property  from Malwarebytes - see HERE

There are many similar products with totally ethical backgrounds which are superior anyway; Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, SUPERAntiSpyware, Emsisoft Anti-Malware, Microsoft Security Scanner, just to name a few.

More on Spybot: Here is an excerpt from a recent lab testing results summary which tested free scanner/removers - MBAM topped the list, Spybot did not make the grade:

      Quote

Doing less well in on demand tests was Spybot S & D. Spybot was also actively blocked from running, and nothing we tried could overcome this.

      UPDATE:

Oops, seems we must have been responding at the exact same time Marko.

Never mind, will leave it now -  won't really hurt. :)

About the links on my post, they were working about 12 hours ago. I tried to access them for the last 40 minutes and for some very strange reason, they are not working anymore. I have even tried to access the PCSTATS website (www.pcstats.com) without any luck, and many other resourses on this site (including recent reports on hardware) also just "gone"... It looks like some X-Files episode... The whole site is down.... This is very weird, is the first time to happen (at least to me) with this site. Any way, I will keep an eye on them, and if nothing comes up, I'll try to post the PDFs (exactly as they published them originally) later. At least the link, the one regarding MSCONFIG, is working! :flag_of_truce:

On the other hand, I  have read about the IOBit's situation and I would not expected different from you, that should be the correct thing to do, but I still believe that as another layer of protection, it will not hurt the system. :pardon:

Don't worry about the links, sure they'll probably be back up and running shortly - as for IOBit themselves I honestly wouldn't trust any of their software, it was proven beyond all reasonable doubt by MalwareBytes themselves that IOBit were stealing their definitions and as such that is developer I couldn't possibly recommend anymore - I mean if they can steal a database from another developer I dread to think what they could potentially do to the hundreds and thousands of innocent people using their products :negative:

They are back... They are alive! Just about 6 minutes ago. What was happening.... really, no idea, not even the smallest one (the site was just down...) :greeting:

As for IOBit, I do not trust them either (shame on them! :( ), but I do keep checking on them, just in case they decide to improve and do the right thing. :cray: (Is the least I can do.... there was once that I had "this extremely delicate situation" with a customer of mine, where I was not able or allowed to erase anything from one their systems... and nothing else on my tools-bag worked... «all must remain as if it was untouched, heck, I was not even allowed to move the system to another office in the same floor of the building because "you must work here... and now..."», and they were the only ones, through their tech support,  that actually helped me out.... in just less than an hour...)

IObit :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative: :negative:

              That's the exact opposite of 5 star...LOL

Seriously, how could anyone trust them. As part of the process to prove IObit had actually stolen their definition database, MBAM deliberately injected false signatures into their definition database - this is what happened as reported by MBAM:

              Quote

"The final confirmation of IOBit's theft occurred when we added fake definitions to our database for a fake rogue application ... This "malware" does not actually exist: we made it up. We even manufactured fake files to match the fake definitions. Within two weeks IOBit was detecting these fake files under almost exactly these fake names."

The links I posted were not working because i think they were updating their site.

If the links I posted earlier on this post does not work properly then: :gamer:
                      • Go to www.pcstats.com
                      • Near the right bottom corner of the page look for "Beginners guides"
                      • Surf trough the list or click "search"
                      • Look for these:
