I've been using Flash Folder for a couple of years in XP.It's such a time saver. One button lets me choose any folder currently open in Explorer and another lets me pick an folder from a customized list of often used folders. It saves Lots of navigation clicks.

Unfortunately, development of a version that works on Windows 7 has not happened.

    Homesite is on SourceForge HERE

    Here's the description:

    Quote

FlashFolder extends the file-related common dialogs (e.g. open/save dialog) seen in most Windows programs. A small toolbar docks onto these dialogs that provides menus for quick access to recently-used folders, favorite folders and more.

Does anyone know of any thing that provides the same functionality in Win 7?

    Thanks!

jelson...you ever tried Q-Dir?I keep it around to move things from one area of the PC to another. It's a pretty versalite little program, and it's portable.

I think I tried Flash Folder a while back, but I found it a little bit of overkill.I don't like the idea of messing with Windows Explorer, so Q-Dir was the perfiect option for me.There are numerous options and configurations you can use to make getting at your files and folders easier.

A big thank you for turning me onto Q-Dir. It's very much like XYplorer which I use.Definitely going to play with it a bit.

I'm still looking for something that affects the Save | Option dialogs of programs.I'll let you know if I find something.I understand not liking to mess with Explorer, but to me it's worth the trouble. Thanks again!

NP jelson.I guess I'm a little surprised Flash Folder hasn't been updated for Win 7.Hope they will see the light at some point or that you will find something as good...

                      Good luck...
