I'm not entirely sure what part of the forums to post this, here seems as good a spot as any...

For those of us who need Windows 8 now: you may download the official beta directly from MS for FREE in many languages.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/iso Choose an ISO, Burn and Install.
No need to enter any information, simply download. Please be aware, all Microsoft Betas have built-in time-outs and kill-switches so don't get too comfortable.

If you dl from the many, many pirate sites in order to defeat MS time-outs, know this, you are responsible for dl malware and distributing virus.
Do NOT come here for help; you got what you deserve. DL only from Microsoft.com

Hi Claw, hope all is well.
What was that old axiom about "Curiosity killed the cat."

Thanks again Bala,,it does seem like it may take some time to adjust to. I guess we'll all find out sooner or later. Microsoft doesn't give you much of a choice with their end of lifecycle stuff. Well,,thanks again buddy. :good:

Thanks Bala. I would add a cautionary note:

Please bear in mind that this is a BETA version and as such suitable for experienced users only. There have already been numerous problems reported involving dual boot operations. If you are installing Windows 8 in a dual boot configuration I strongly suggest you create a full image of your existing OS before proceeding.

Excellent advice Jim and Claw !!!

Separately, in certain unique configurations, some may need a key to install the ISO. If so, use this:
                NF32V-Q9P3W-7DR7Y-JGWRW-JFCK8
No, this is NOT a Pirated key, it comes from Microsoft.com directly - only good for 90 days.

Marko, yes I do have permission to give out that key.

Good thinking Claw - the guinea pig method! :)

@Bala - Sorry, I don't understand about the key. There is a universal key available to all on the official download page.

Jim, to avoid any potential misunderstandings with the admin of freewarebb.com I needed to make crystal clear that the key in question originates from an official source (Microsoft.com) and not a pirate source. Although most 'clean' installs will not require a key; in specific situations; installing on an Apple Mac using VM will require a key.

Right now leaked keys are floating around the net by the bucket full, users should only use official Microsoft issued keys through normal channels.
