What do you guys think about it? I've seen the one from Panda but i don't really care for Panda. Now i see the one from Immunet but i never heard of them before. They do seem to have a lot of positive feautures, but i'm still up in the air about using them.

Grem, I've heard good things about Panda. I don't know if they are warranted or not but  I've hadn't any negative feedback. Immunet,,hey last I heard it didn't have Real-time,,Now it does. I always known "only one AV at a time,,so I'm kind of leary of these "companion AVs. The "cloud" seems to be taking over,,I don't think we will be able to escape its grip.
Does anyone have an opinion on "companion AVs????

Cloud based anti-malware is a good idea in principle but there are some definite ifs and buts. Firstly, the level of protection afforded is wholly reflected by the size of the user database, i.e. more users = better protection. The system relies on input from its user PCs, information is relayed from user PCs to the cloud server and collated accordingly. That cloud based data is then utilized to assess risks and risk levels across the community - the gathering of information from user PCs is obviously ongoing. For something like this to be entirely successful it should involve a very large user community.

Would I rely solely on cloud based protection? No. But I would consider something like Immunet which is designed to work alongside and augment traditional definition-based anti-virus rather than replace it.

@Claw - Conflicts between Immunet and traditional AV would be highly unlikely mate. They are based on entirely different systems of protection. In much the same way as traditional AV will work hand in hand with HIPS or behavioral based security software.

Panda and Immunet can be used in parallel with traditional AV's as well as other security solutions and both have a free version.
Bkav Pro (refer Virus Bulletin) and Webroot Security Anywhere (formerly Prevx) are doing fine in independent tests as well.

HitmanPro is a cloud-based secondary scanner made to remove malwares which doesn't have any realtime protection module but is equipped with 5 security engines all in their servers.
